My name is Luna, I am 26 years old, and I love to travel. I am passionate about immersing myself in both new and familiar places, artwork, nature, food, and more. My love of travel is inspired by my lifelong love of learning. The best way to get outside your comfort zone and limited perspective as a single individual in a single place is to get out there and see the diversity of our planet.
I made this website solely because my grandma convinced me to start a travel blog. She said, “Be one of those influencers who gets paid to be alive and look cute doing it.” Quitting my retail job in 2024, getting two books traditionally published, and launching my businesses as a freelance book editor and a visual artist on Redbubble were the best decisions I ever made. I get to spend my days immersed in novels, poetry, and drawings. But a lot of my work also involves being hunched over my laptop like a gargoyle, then wondering why my neck hurts.
I am a Southern California girl who was born to a Colombian & Mexican American mom and a Scottish, Irish, & Swedish American dad. My mixed background has made me naturally appreciative of multiculturalism and global travel. My grandma was the biggest influence on my love of travel. Born in Colombia in 1945 and meeting my grandpa in Mexico in 1965, my grandma built a life in Miami, Florida, with my mom and aunt as a single mother who worked in the travel airline industry for decades—a job that allowed her to see every country she wanted to visit. My grandma did not do it alone. My great-grandma and great-great-grandma lived with my mom and raised her, along with my grandma. Because of the prevalence of multigenerational households in Colombian families, I can actually say I know the stories and recipes of my great-great-grandma, Rosa: an ancestor born over 100 years before I was. When my brothers and I were kids, my grandma took us on family vacations to Mexico, Argentina, China, and Colombia. Each of those trips changed my life profoundly. I have taken that same spirit into my adult life by always having a trip planned.
The blog is divided into three main sections: art, food, and nature, so you can browse what interests you the most, all while seeing the diversity of these experiences from around the world.
Welcome! I hope you love it here.
